Quick final update on Bliss

This is the final route for Bliss In The Hills 2017

Please pay careful attention from km 416 to 438. Please follow the cue sheet religiously (or the gpx files) ( and check the photos of the intersections)

Check the cue sheet on ridewithgps. I have posted the photographs of these intersections.

Once you reach Mananthavadi, take left , then forced left at T junction, then immediate right, and again right (There are V junctions ahead of you). You will hit the Calicut highway , follow this till you reach Kalpetta.

After Kalpetta the navigation is fairly straightforward. Its all main roads.

There will be support at Kalpetta. We have booked a dorm room for you to sleep. We recommend that you pack a sleeping back as part of your drop bag.

Chengapalli might be a manned control. You will be notified if so.
The roads from Belur to the highway can be bad at times. Be careful. You will be riding at night here, and there are some tricky downhill sections here.

That said, the hills (And the plains) are spectacular after the rains. If you have the legs, you will enjoy the ride.

And you don’t need to be a monster to finish the ride, some discipline will do. I managed to finish it despite a Grade 2+ hamstring tear.

One last thing : There will be two Information Controls : Siddapura , and Kotagiri, you will have to provide proof of passage (either ATM slip or selfie with a landmark with the name of the town — actually the water fall on the roadside enroute to siddapura is fine 😉 )

The ride starts at Mysore Road Decathlon. All the best for arguably one of the most scenic yet difficult non competitive cycling ride in India.
